Mr. Peifer was born and raised in Dayton, Ohio. He graduated from Wright State University in June 1996 with a Bachelor of Arts degree.

Following graduation from Wright State University, Mr. Peifer worked for a year as a sales representative for the Inter-Tel Corporation, which was in Phoenix, Arizona and which supplied telephonic systems and services to medium and large companies.

Mr. Peifer returned to Dayton, Ohio and enrolled at the University of Dayton School of Law in August 1997. While a student at the University of Dayton School of Law, he did clerkships with both the Montgomery County Common Pleas Court and the Greene County Prosecutor’s Office. He graduated from the University of Dayton School of Law in May 2000 with a Juris Doctorate degree, and was licensed in the State of Ohio in November 2000.

Mr. Peifer then accepted a commission in the United States Air Force as a Judge Advocate. He served in the United States Air Force for six years, with assignments to RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom and Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio. While at RAF Lakenheath, United Kingdom, Mr. Peifer, along with duties in the areas of contract law, tax law, and employment and labor law in the Staff Judge Advocate’s Office, represented the United States Air Force in non-judicial proceedings and courts-martial. Following his tour in the Staff Judge Advocate’s Office, Mr. Peifer was selected to represent airmen in non-judicial proceedings and courts-martial. Mr. Peifer was then selected for assignment to Wright-Patterson AFB, Ohio, where he represented the United States Air Force in disputes with contractors before the Court of Federal Claims and the Armed Services Board of Contract Appeals.

Mr. Peifer separated from the United States Air Force in March 2007, and accepted a position with a firm in Dayton, Ohio. For two years, while with that firm, he practiced in the areas of contract law and employment and labor law, among a multitude of other areas of civil law practice.

From March 2009 through January 2011, he operated a solo practice, in which he continued his practice in the areas that he had previously practiced with that firm in Dayton, Ohio, and on the basis of his experience in the United States Air Force, practiced in the area of criminal law, including duties as a municipal prosecutor.

In January 2011, Mr. Peifer accepted a position as a Staff Attorney with Teamsters Local 1224 in Wilmington, Ohio. He represented members in collective bargaining agreement negotiations, and represented members in non-disciplinary and disciplinary matters throughout the grievance process, including grievances before System Boards of Adjustment. In addition, he advised members and union officers, at more than five properties, on the diversity of issues that arise in a labor practice, e.g., union dues and elections, federal and state labor laws, workers compensation, unemployment compensation and drug and alcohol testing, etc.

Mr. Peifer is married to Aida Montes-Peifer (nee Montes-Alanis) formerly of Mexico City, Mexico.
