New Managing Partner Announcement - Jason Cox

We are thrilled to announce a significant transition at Barkan Meizlish DeRose Cox, LLP (BMDC). Effective October 18, 2023, Jason Cox will step into the role of Managing Partner, succeeding Bob DeRose.
We owe a tremendous debt of gratitude to Bob DeRose for his exceptional leadership over the previous 5 years, particularly throughout the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. His dedication and strategic acumen have repositioned BMDC, making us stronger than ever. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Bob for his invaluable contributions. Bob will continue his role as the leader of our Employment/Wage and Hour Department. His expertise and experience in these areas are essential to our firm and our clients.
Jason Cox, our incoming Managing Partner, has a history with BMDC that exemplifies commitment and growth. He began as a law clerk in 2014 while attending law school at night, eventually becoming a named partner in 2021. Jason’s vision for growth, entrepreneurial spirit, and passion for fostering success will shape BMDC’s future.
In addition to his professional achievements, Jason is blessed with a wonderful family. His wife and two young daughters are a constant source of pride and support. They are excited to embark on this new journey with Jason, sharing in his enthusiasm and dedication to BMDC’s future.
Jason will be the 5th Managing Partner in the 67-year history of the firm, and he is eager to embrace his new role, leading BMDC into the future with enthusiasm. He looks forward to collaborating with our dedicated colleagues, both within and outside the firm, and forming new partnerships to expand BMDC’s ability to serve the community. In addition to the new role, he is excited to continue his practice within the personal injury department at the firm.
