Although Morgan is originally from Caledonia, Ohio, she’s lived in the Columbus area for 17 years. She obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Criminology from The Ohio State University and immediately thereafter completed her Juris Doctorate at Capital University Law School, becoming the first in her family to earn a college degree. While at Ohio State, Morgan played Ohio State Club Volleyball, and completed an internship in Washington D.C., where she gained valuable legal experience working in the D.C. courts with an attorney practicing under the Criminal Justice Act.
During her time in law school, Morgan began her career in criminal defense at Scott & Nolder (formerly Joseph E. Scott, Co., L.P.A.). There, she gained invaluable exposure to the courtroom, client meetings and interviews, proffers, plea negotiations, and trials. Upon passing the bar exam, Morgan became an associate at Scott & Nolder, where she represented a diverse array of both retained and court-appointed clientele on charges ranging from minor traffic offenses to serious felony offenses, included murder, sex offenses, drug offenses, and weapons offenses.
Following her four years of work in criminal defense, Morgan spent nine years as the Assistant Law Director and Prosecutor of various municipalities with Frost Brown Todd (originally with Ice Miller, formerly Schottenstein, Zox, and Dunn). Morgan has prosecuted thousands of misdemeanor criminal and traffic offenses in Franklin County Municipal Court and in various Mayors’ Courts in Franklin County. While serving in this position, she also provided legal counsel and legal updates to some of the firm’s law enforcement clientele.
After nine years as a prosecutor, Morgan returned to private practice to join Albeit Weiker, excited to once again advocate for clients. She thrives on relationship building, and focuses on providing excellent customer service. Legal troubles and matters can center around difficult times in a client’s life, so Morgan is committed to helping minimize that stress by being reachable, and by keeping her clients informed and updated on their case.
Morgan and her husband, Greg, have been married for ten years, and have two young daughters. Morgan loves being a mom, and in her spare time, enjoys doing carpentry work, playing golf and volleyball, and spending time with family and friends.
